Strips and discs indicators
They contain bacteria in the form of spore, on a paper support. These indicators are sold either packed in a blue glazed paper, or in bulk. After the sterilization cycle, the indicator is incubated in the growth media of trypticase culture soya, in a define temperature during 7 days.

The suspensions of spores Etigam EV are calibrated solutions with spores made for preparation of the biological indicators, according to needs of direct inoculation for the following sterilization method: steam, Ethylenoxid, dry heat or radiation. After the sterilization cycle, the indicator is incubated in the growth media of trypticase culture soya, in a temperature defined during 7 days. The suspensions are available in different population from 103 to 108 spores by 0.1mL, depending on process |

Indicators with fast liberation or ' Self-contained ' indicators are autonomous biological indicators which contain directly the strip of spores as well as the culture media. This product allows, at the end of the cycle, the immediate incubation by simply breaking the bulb containing the media. This procedure limits the risks of contamination. These indicators are certified to give a final result after 48 hours (recognized by the FDA).
