The Ethylenoxid (ETO) is a dangerous gas in its use but also for the environment. To insure a total safety, Medistri undertook in various ways: Security & safety of working people at Site Security & safety of environment Security & safety of the patient using medical products

For the staffs: The manufacturing site is equipped with safety equipments which control the working atmosphere.

For the environment: The environmental safety is monitored by a «System of Emissions Control ". This high investment was included in the technical equipment of the sterilization system. It consists of a state-of-the-art peak-shaver and a catalytic burner that eliminates the ETO, according to Swiss legislation specification. The process allows furthermore recycling part of the energy to limit the heating consumption. Medistri has authorization from Swiss government SEN.

For the patient: The ETO can be absorbed in the used raw-materials, it is necessary to decrease the residues in the final product, this process is completed by aeration either in a heated cell or by keeping the products under quarantine before use. The residual are analyzed by our laboratory. The results should demonstrate that the product does not exceed the limits fixed by the international standard ISO10993-7.
